Frontend Developer
A product-focused engineering role building Nova's customer-facing web surfaces (marketing site, Talent Marketplace) in React/Next.js/TypeScript. Focuses on turning Figma designs into responsive, accessible, production-quality UI, maintaining a reusable design system, and integrating with backend/HRIS APIs — all within a HIPAA-conscious environment. Less about visual design decisions, more about implementation quality, accessibility, and clean, type-safe code.
The Role
As a Frontend Developer, you'll build and maintain the customer-facing web products at Nova Virtual Solutions — from our marketing site to product surfaces like our Talent Marketplace. You'll turn Figma designs into fast, accessible, responsive interfaces, own reusable components in our design system, and integrate the frontend with our backend/HRIS services. You'll work in a modern Next.js + TypeScript codebase where clean, well-tested UI and attention to detail matter, and where the work ships in a HIPAA-conscious, cloud-hosted environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build responsive, accessible UIs from Figma designs — mobile, tablet, and desktop — with a strong eye for detail and motion.
- Develop and maintain reusable components and a token-based design system for visual consistency across the product.
- Integrate the frontend with backend and HRIS APIs (via Next.js route handlers), handling loading, empty, and error states gracefully.
- Work within an AWS cloud environment, using its services for hosting, storage, and compute.
- Participate in code reviews, upholding accessibility (WCAG), security, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and type-safe code.
- Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and QA to ship features end-to-end.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of professional Frontend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in our frontend stack: React 19, Next.js (App Router), and TypeScript.
- Solid experience with Tailwind CSS, and component/animation libraries such as shadcn/ui, tweakcn, React Bits, and Framer Motion for polished, creative web design.
- Strong grasp of responsive design, semantic HTML, and web accessibility (ARIA, focus management).
- Experience consuming REST APIs and handling async UI states.
- Familiarity with Git/GitLab, code review workflows, containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI).
